Meredith Wilson's THE MUSIC MAN takes an affectionate look at Smalltown, USA, in a by-gone era when a fast-talking, smooth-talking traveling salesman, Professor Harold Hill, cons the people in River City, Iowa, into buying band instruments and uniforms for a boys' band that he intends to organize or, at least, so he says! This is all in spite of the fact that Professor Harold Hill doesn't know a treble clef from a trombone!
Alas, love is in the air when he meets the town librarian, Marian, and her magical spell keeps him in River City long enough for the townsfolk to get wind of his scheme. From there comes the mayhem, confusion, finger pointing and the great music which has made The Music Man one of America's best-loved musicals.
"Ya Got Trouble", "Goodnight my Someone", "Till There Was You" and "Seventy-six Trombones" are just some of the classics of Americana's Broadway showtunes!
Produced by Windwood Productions, other national tours brought to Helena by Windwood include "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers", "Hello, Dolly", "The Unsinkable Molly Brown", "Bye Bye Birdie" and "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes".
