Archie Bray

Around 1924, a Helena brickmaker named Archie Bray founded the organization you now know today as Live! at the Civic. Archie was a lover of music and found a way, despite personal financial hardship, to bring performing arts to the Helena community.

Far better known for his ceramic artwork & pottery, Archie Bray’s name and vision remain a constant for Helenans. The Archie Bray Foundation continues to do a fantastic job in Helena promoting the arts and keeping the traditions of Archie Bray alive. Here at Live! at the Civic, we also work for the same cause. Our goal and focus is to maintain the concert series Archie began 84 years ago, entertain the Helena community with top performers of many styles and to educate, especially our younger generation.

Our (Archie’s, yours and ours) organization is only made possible through season ticket purchases, the generous donations of our patrons and the numerous corporate sponsorships from local Helena business men and women.
